Xavier Tafoya is Hay Rice and Associates Athlete of the Week

Liberal junior lineback and H-back Xavier Tafoya is this week’s Hay Rice and Associates Athlete of the Week.  Tafoya led the Redskins with seven tackles in a 17-6 playoff win over Bishop Carroll Friday at Redskin Field.  He has 81 tackles for the Angry Red with two sacks and seven tackles for loss.  Two weeks ago at Hays, Tafoya registered 15 tackles in a 20-19 win at Hays.  On offense, he has 33 carries for 360 yards for 10.9 yards per carry and five touchdowns.  He has six catches for 57 yards.  He is also involved in basketball, powerlifting, and track.  Tafoya and the Redskins play at Hutchinson Thursday night at 7pm with Redskin Pre-game at 6pm on 1270 and 92.3.
