The Liberal baseball team locked up with Woodward in a pitcher’s dual Tuesday in Woodward. The Boomers (13-11) won the game 3-0 as Woodward’s Francisco Alvarez held the Redskins to just one hit.

Liberal’s Collin Ware did his part in holding the Boomers in check as well. The Boomers scored one in the first, one in fifth, and one in the sixth. Ware pitched into the fifth and had to leave the game after he was hit in the hand by a line drive. Jared Hasik’s bunt single was Liberal’s only hit. Hasik stole two bases.

Woodward’s pitcher Alvarez was throwing 85-87 miles per hour and scouts were at the game to watch him.

The Redskins fall to 4-6 and host Colby for a double header Friday at 4 at the Liberal Baseball Complex.
