WOODWARD, Okla. (AP) – Family members say a 2-year-old boy who
was injured in a tornado that killed his father and two sisters is
expected to recover.
Ty Coolie was flown to a Lubbock, Texas, hospital for treatment
following the early Sunday tornado that killed six and injured 36.
Ty’s grandmother, Shelly Hobbie, told The Oklahoman
(http://bit.ly/HJxpEI) Ty has on a cast from his chest at his rib
cage down. She says he doesn’t understand why he can’t be held and
that his father and sisters are gone.
Twenty-seven-year-old Frank Hobbie and his daughters, 7-year-old
Faith and 4-year-old Kelly, were killed when the storm hit their
mobile home about 12:18 a.m. Sunday.
Shelly Hobbie says her stepson was a devoted single father who
worked at H&P Drilling in Tulsa and liked to fix cars.
