The Woodward Boomers were ready to play from the opening tip. Woodward dunked three times in the first 29 seconds on the way to beating the Liberal Redskins 83-52 Friday night for the homecoming game in the big house.
Woodward led 27-14 after one and 50-23 at the half. The Boomers led 74-42 at the end of three.
The Redskins shot 37 percent from the field and committed 21 turnovers. LHS was 5-16 from three point range and 3-6 at the foul line.
James Fieser scored 18 points with seven rebounds. Juan Diego had 11. Eathan Hernandez scored nine points with six rebounds.
Woodward has won 11 straight and is 14-4. The Redskins are 3-11 and 0-4 at home. Liberal hosts Hooker Tuesday night at about 7:45 on 1270 and 92.3.
