Wichita Bank Robber Arrested in Meade

In the early afternoon Wednesday, the Meade County Sheriff’s office received information that a suspect vehicle and it’s driver, who was suspected in a bank robbery in Wichita, could possibly be travelling on US-54.
At approximately 2:23 pm, a Meade County Deputy saw the suspect vehicle travelling west on 54 at mile marker 46. Deputies attempted a traffic stop from which the suspect fled in their vehicle and was subsequently ended in the city limits of Meade, at the intersection of W. Belle and N. Beam Drive.
The 67 year old male driver, Craig Henderson, was taken into custody without incident and is currently being held at the Meade County Jail for local charges of felony flee and elude and aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer.
Henderson is also suspected of robbing the Wells Fargo at West Street and Taft at around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.
