Western Texas Head Coach Joins Zollinger

After a year in which they won the Jayhawk West Championship and finished just one game short of the NJCAA National Tournament, the Seward County Saints Men’s Basketball program feels like it has added another key piece to hopefully get even further in the 2011-2012 season. Head Coach Bryan Zollinger has announced that former Western Texas College Head Coach Jason Sautter will be joining the Saints bench for the upcoming season after a three year stay in Snyder with the Westerners.
Sautter becomes the third assistant coach in as many years for the Saints but doesn’t come with the typical resume of an assistant coach. Sautter joins Seward after three very successful seasons with Western Texas that saw the Westerners go 55-30 during his time there. Under Sautter’s watch, WTC was ranked in the NJCAA Top 20 poll for the first time in over 30 years and was the top ranked defensive team in the country during this past season.
Sautter has a Masters of Education from Harding University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from York College. He has been married to his wife Jacy for twelve years, and they have two sons, Jacob (9) and Jadon (5), along with their daughter Jordyn (4).
Zollinger is glad to have the talents of Sautter with him for the upcoming season saying "Jason has a real passion for recruiting. His track record speaks for itself and the experience that he brings to us at Seward County will prove invaluable" he continued. He replaces Jay Cyriac who took the assistant coaching job at Hutchinson.
