Water well Issues Being Corrected in Guymon

Joe Denoyer - June 3, 2020 4:34 pm

he City of Guymon has updated the community on the water supply issues which they have been operating under for the past few days. Monday night and early Tuesday morning both Wells #25 and #33 were repaired and the testing process was started. The samples were delivered to the ODEQ Lab in Oklahoma City at 8:00 a.m. The testing process takes 24 hours before results can be determined. Wednesday morning, 6/3/2020, the City was informed that one well was able to be put in service but the other was going to take additional chlorination and re-tested. Water Crews are continuing to work to get Well #33 hooked back up to the distribution system, they will then re-chlorinate Well #25, take the necessary samples, and deliver those samples to the testing site in Dodge City, Kansas. Once those results are known, which will be sometime Friday, the City hopes to be able to put Well #25 back in service. Guymon is 95% sure that Well #25 will be able to be put back in service on Friday, 6/5/2020. The City of Guymon is still requesting you conserve water as you can, but will be removing all water usage restrictions. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call the City of Guymon at 338-3396.
