On Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at about 3:40 p.m., emergency responders were dispatched to the 200 block of West Pine for a report of an injury accident. It was reported that a vehicle had struck a pedestrian.

Investigating officers found that a 29 year old male was driving his black, 1999 Mazda west on Pine. A 10 year old girl began crossing the street and ran into the side of the passing car. She was not in the crosswalk at the time of the accident.

Seward County Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene. The girl was transported to Southwest Medical Center. Her condition is not known at this time. No other injuries were reported
