USD 480 Board to Meet on Monday August 9th

USD 480

The USD 480 Board of Education will meet on Monday August 9th. Up for consideration will be Student Athletics/Activities insurance. USD 480 provides insurance that covers the student if hurt at school, at an athletic event or school activity.  Last year the cost was $99,757.  This insurance covers the first $25,000.  Claims paid in the last year are over $135,000 with $50,000 still pending.

The Beverage proposal for the District will be before the Board as the current contract with Coca-Cola expires on August 31, 2021. Coke has provided an annual contribution of $5,000 per year. The average cases sold over the last 3 years has been 700 cases per year.

USD 480 has received two proposals – Coke and Pepsi.  The proposals are :

Coke – 5 year contract

Annual Contribution – $8,000 per year

Donated Product and Sideline Equipment – $1,500

Total per year $9,500

Pepsi – 5 year Contract

Annual Contribution – $4,000 per year

Donated Product and Sideline Equipment – $1,500

Rebate per case purchased – $2.00

2000 cases per year – $4,000

Guaranteed – $5,500 per year

Variable based on cases sold- $2,000

Exterminating services for the District will be voted on as USD 480 has solicited bids for exterminating services for the 21-22 school year.  The following bid was received:

-Davis Pest Control, Liberal, KS in the amount of $17,050.00

Microsoft Renewal is on the agenda as are Policy changes for First Read, Policy JHCAB: Bullying

ESOL Endorsement Tuition Agreements will also be on the agenda for several faculty member.
