The USD 480 school board met Monday night and took steps toward improving the technology of the district. The board voted to upgrade the district’s firewall after a virus made its rounds on district computers. Upgrading the firewall will cost the district just under 43 thousand dollars. It’s the first time the firewall has been updated since the early 2000’s. The board also approved an upgrade to servers for just under 21 thousand dollars to the district’s computer system.

The USD 480 board also made an interlocal agreement with the city. The city and district agreed to let an outside company perform building inspections for Liberal’s new schools. Earl’s Engineering of Liberal will do the inspections.
