The USD 480 Board of Education met Monday evening and recognized  Yanique Walters from SRMS as the Chamber of Commerce Teacher of the Month.  After reports from directors, the BOE approved new course offerings for the secondary schools, a new electronic sign for Bright Start from local vendor Versus Signs, and renewal of the Zonar Fleet Management system which provides GPS tracking and reporting of all USD 480 vehicles including busses.

Also approved was the bid from Gas Lawn Pros, in the amount of $12,240.00 to provide weed control services until March of 2020 for the spraying of playgrounds and district properties.

After lengthy deliberation, the BOE approved an Energy Performance Contract with Energy Solutions Professionals to provide comprehensive energy services that will save energy, water and other operating costs in the amount of $5.8 million, pending legal review.


Finally, the BOE approved the sale of the former Washington Elementary property to Casey’s Retail Company for the purchase price of $422,500.
