The USD 480 school board met Monday night and approved several summer maintenance projects. Here they are:

New carpet in hallways and some classrooms at LHS for 49,074 dollars- Flooring America

Window replacements in commons at LHS for 14,450 dollars- Southwest Glass

Roof repairs over LHS library and locker room and Sunflower for 179,102 dollars- DV Douglas Roofing.

Replacement of doors to courtyard and kitchen service area doors for 8,355 dollars- SW Glass

Replacement of doors to annex and weight room at LHS 35,505 dollars- Edelman-Lyon Company

Replacement of sidewalks and parking areas at LHS annex and service and delivery areas not to exceed 70,000 dollars- Abbott Construction

The board also voted to increase the option budget authority for the next two school years. They did not raise the mill levy last night. But the board gave themselves the ability to raise the mill levy 4.16 mills during the next two school years because money from the state is not changing. The board makes this move to cover the district if the district continues to grow at a rate the district can’t cover without raising the mill levy due to increase numbers of students and lack of state funding for those students.
