The Ulysses Police Department was summoned to a reported shooting at a residence in the 1300 block of East Oklahoma Avenue on Tuesday November 24th at 4:48 pm. Upon arrival, officers located an 11 year old female suffering from a gunshot wound to the face. She was transported to Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital by Grant County EMS.

While the incident is still under investigation, the preliminary investigation indicates that a 13 year old male at the residence was handling a firearm when it discharged, striking the 11 year old girl.
