Tyrone, Liberal Residents Involved in Finney County Accident

A two vehicle accident occurred Monday morning at approximately 11:15am in Garden City at the US 50 and Jennie Barker Road intersection.

A 2006 Mack Truck Semi being driven by Henry Gonzales, 54, of Garden City was stopped at the intersection of US 50 Highway and Jennie Barker Road, facing west, when a 2005 Ford Freestar van being driven by Carolyn Rittenour, 39, of Tyrone OK, failed to see that the semi was stopped and rear ended the trailer of the semi.

Gonzales and Rittenour were not injured, however two passengers in the van, Jonathan Eade, 40, and Lisa Lewis, 56, both of Liberal, were taken to St. Catherine’s Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

Seatbelts were in use in both vehicles.
