Two Vehicle Accident in Meade County

A two vehicle accident occurred on Saturday morning at approximately 6:44 am, 7/10s of a mile east from Plains on Highway 54.

A 2014 Volvo semi being driven by Jose Sosa Avila, 41, turned left from US 160 onto US 54, and failed to observe a 2015 Chevy Traverse being driven by Rosa Anna Rodriguez, 34, of Dodge City who was east bound. The Traverse then struck the semi on the passenger side area behind the front axle.

Rodriguez and two other passengers in the Traverse were not injured, however a third passenger, Dora Munoz, 60, of Dodge City was taken to Southwest Medical Center to be treated for suspected serious injuries.

The driver of the semi and his passenger were not injured.
