A two vehicle accident occured Sunday afternoon at 4:12pm at the intersection of US Highway 83 and US Highy 412 at Bryans Corner Oklahoma. A 2002 Chevy Venture van being driven by Eunice Jimenez San Juan, 19 of Austin Texas was southbound on Highway 83, stopped at the stop sign, then pulled out in front of a 2008 GMC Tahoe being driven by Jeffrey Bauer, 50 of Guymon Oklahoma. The Chevy van was struck by the Tahoe, rotated 195 degrees, ejecting a passenger out of the left rear window of the van, with the vehicle coming to rest in an upright position. The Tahoe, after collision, left the roadway, struck a guidewire, continued southbound until striking a power pole. Eunice San Juan was pinned in the van for 46 minutes. There were two of the 9 people in the Chevy Venture van, Maria Jimenez San Juan 52, and a 9 year old male child that were taken to Amarillo’s Northwest Texas Hospital due to the severity of their injuries. All other passengers, 6 of which were children with ages ranging from 7-14, including both drivers, were treated and released at Ochiltree General Hospital in Perryton TX. Seatbelts were not in use in either of the vehicles.
