After both putting together solid freshman campaigns
during the 2010-2011 season, Seward County freshman Ashlynn Knoll and
Mariah Lee have both been named Honorable Mention All-American by the
Women’s Basketball Coaches Association. The WBCA differs from the NJCAA
All-American teams in the fact that they pool all divisions together to
form their teams rather than having an All-American team for each
division.

Knoll draws the honor after earlier being named a 1st
Team All-Conference and a 2nd Team All-Region selection as she led the
Lady Saints in scoring this season at 12.1 points per game. She was
also Seward’s leading rebounder on the year at just under 7 per game and
finished second on the team in both blocked shots and steals. Lee earns
her third Honorable Mention choice after the Lady Saints freshman
forward was named both Honorable Mention All-Conference and Honorable
Mention All-Region at season’s end. Lee finished second on the team in
both points (11.1) and rebounds (5.5) while leading the Lady Saints in
field goal percentage on the season, shooting at a 45% clip. (Roy Allen)
