Two Cimarron River Teams Reach Monday Championship

The 10 and 12-year-old Cimarron River Rattler teams both advance to state championships Monday. The 12’s in Scott City have to beat Ottawa twice Monday in Scott City. Sunday, the Rattlers gave up five in the sixth but held on to beat Marion 15-12 and topped Quivira 10-4.
The 10’s beat Parsons 12-11 and Winfield 12-10 and play Fort Scott who they must beat twice today in Oswego.
In the Senior Babe Ruth State Baseball Tournament in Liberal, two Southeast Kansas teams meet for the state title today. Columbus and Coffeyville meet at 11 a.m at the Liberal Baseball Complex Monday. If Columbus wins, they would force a game two this afternoon. Sunday, Coffeyville beat Lakin 13-3 before Columbus eliminated Haysville 19-1. Haysville beat Liberal late Saturday night 8-3. Columbus ousted Lakin Sunday night 15-1.
