The number one ranked Andover Lady Trojans started fast and never looked back in a 67-39 win over the Liberal Lady Redskins Friday afternoon in the semifinals of the Salina Invitational Tournament.  It’s the third straight year Andover has topped Liberal in the mid season tournament.  Andover won with their injured starting point guard Brooke Walker who is headed to the University of Utah.

Liberal was sluggish early and saw Andover vault off to a 13-1 lead.  It was 22-11 after one.  Andover led 37-20 at halftime and 55-31 after three.

Andover shot 67 percent from the field while Liberal shot 29 percent.

Hailey Contreras scored 13 points and grabbed six rebounds in the loss.

Andover is 10-0 and advances to the SIT championship. Liberal is 7-4 and plays for third Saturday morning at 10 am at Kansas Wesleyan in Salina.  Redskin Pre-game at 9:45 on 1270 and 92.3.
