Kansas Gov.-elect Sam Brownback’s team is
giving people an extra week to get tickets to his inaugural ball.
The new deadline for securing tickets to the Jan. 8 festivities
is Dec. 30.
As Thursday’s original deadline approached, Brownback’s
inaugural committee says it heard from many supporters who were
still completing their guest lists. It decided to extend the
deadline.
The dinner and ball in Topeka take place two days before the new
Republican governor takes the oath of office.
People can get tickets using a form on the committee’s website
or calling its office, at 785-246-6322.
Tickets start at $125. For $2,000, a purchaser receives eight
"preferred view" seats at the dinner and ball, plus two tickets
to a VIP reception beforehand.
