On Saturday, February 22, 2025, Liberal Wrestling Club traveled to Hugoton for the
H-Town Throwdown Wrestling tournament. Liberal took a big group and performed very well at
the tournament.

Three members from the club received an award for the Most Outstanding Wrestler of
their age group. For 10U girls, Sofia Torres received the award with 1st place and 3 pins.
Jacobie Fraire received the award for the 10U boys with 1st place and 4 pins. Taking the award
for 14U girls was Haley Zabel, who placed first with 2 pins. Zabel also took 2nd in the 12U girls
division. “These three wrestlers worked very hard and deserved these awards! I am so happy
for their accomplishments!” Coach Krista Holcomb said.
