LIBERAL, KS – Southwest Medical Center (SWMC) proudly announces the arrival of the 2025 New Year’s Baby, Luna Maria Mendoza de La Cruz. Born on January 1st, 2025, at 4:48 p.m., Luna entered the world to ecstatic parents Marta de La Cruz and Miguel Mendoza. This delightful addition to their family weighed 8 pounds, 12 ounces, and measured 19.5 inches long.
Luna was delivered by OB/GYN Physician, Dr. Dennis Knudsen, and her birth has brought immense joy to both her family and the community. To commemorate this special occasion, the family received a celebratory gift basket from Southwest Medical Center in honor of Luna being the 2025 New Year’s Baby.
The proud grandparents of baby Luna are Domingo Mendoza-Lopez, Maria Sacarillas-Ceprian, Manuela Zetino-Abrocio, and Nicolas Abrocio-de La Cruz. Luna’s name, which means “moon,” was chosen by her parents for its symbolic beauty and significance. This is their first child, making her arrival even more special.
