Superintendent Linkous Issues Statement on School Threat

Like communities all over the country, Liberal Police Department has
become aware of a recent threat to USD 480 schools. According to the
Police Department, “We have determined that the threat is non-credible
at this time.”
USD 480 and the Liberal Police Department take all threats seriously, and
the safety of our students is always our priority. SRO Quesada, along with
other extra LPD officers, will go through the schools this morning and
remain vigilant throughout the day.
We encourage everyone to be aware and to report any suspicious activity
to authorities immediately. We appreciate your patience as our nation
endures a rash of these activities.
