Sumner Sizzles at Season Opener

The Liberal girls went to Hays High invite at Smokey Hill CC on Monday.
Evan Sumner led the SKins with a career best score of 50 at Smokey hill which earned her 7th place overall. Head coach Kody Thexton says he’s thrilled with Evan’s start.
"I am very excited for Evan and this is an excellent way for her to start off her year."
Jamie Brond missed a medal by a couple of strokes with a score of 57."
Julie Jackle shot a 61 which is a great improvement over last year. Rounding out the scoring was Jr. Courtney Widener and Jr. Riley Jones. Head coach Kody Thexton says this is only the beginning.
"We didn’t finish as high as we wanted to, but on the bright side, we competed and nobody who ever gave their best regretted it and I think we can claim that today."

Top Medalist was Abbi Shaddix with a 39.
Liberal goes to Hugoton Thursday.
