The Stepping Stone Shelter’s doors will be open for a Thanksgiving

dinner tomorrow at 1 p.m. Director Pat Allsbury says she hopes

to see you there.

“Anyone in the community who doesn’t have family to spend the

holiday with is invited to come spend it here,” Allsbury said.

“There is a lot of fellowship and visiting. We’ll have turkey and

stuffing and all the trimmings.”

Usually the shelter serves about 50 people. Allsbury hopes for

more tomorrow.

“Hopefully a little more because I know with the economy the way

it is there are probably people who need a meal now more than

ever. I know the food cupboards are getting a lot of requests for

Thanksgiving food.”

Volunteers are always welcome especially today in preparation

for Thanksgiving. The Stepping Stone Shelter is at 1015 N.

Washington and the phone number is 626-6024.
