State revenue receipts for February fell short of estimates on Thursday, but the state has still collected $65 million more this fiscal year to date than anticipated.

Monthly revenue receipts were about $30 million shy of expectations. Much of that shortfall is attributable to the federal government delaying various tax filing deadlines.

“We anticipated this result from the delayed federal refunds last month, the good news is state revenue receipts overall continue to show signs of growth,” said Revenue Secretary Nick Jordan. “Kansas has collected $204 million more for the fiscal year to date that it had during at the same time last year.”
