Lewis was named the defensive player of the year by Sports in Kansas. Here is how they describe Lewis.
Sports in Kansas 4A-6A (Large Classes) Defensive Player of the Year
Dasean Lewis, Hugoton, Sr.
Lewis was one of the most complete players in the state this season in leading Hugoton to a state runner-up finish, one year after capturing the 4A state title in 2023 as one of the smallest 4A schools in the state. He averaged 14.2 points per game, 2.7 steals per game, 2.7 assists per game and 3.9 rebounds per game as a senior. He also took 40 charges in his career at Hugoton under head coach Trey O’Neil. Lewis also narrowly missed being the 4A POY this season. #sportsinkansas
