Southern Pioneer has received numerous reports from consumers regarding scam calls. A scammer has been calling many in the area, claiming to be with Southern Pioneer Electric, demanding payment for “overdue bills” and threatening to disconnect service. The scammer is telling individuals to get a prepaid money card (which Southern Pioneer does not request for payments) and that they will call the consumer back. Some consumers have also mentioned that were also asked about personal information. Please, be extra cautious! The holiday season often sees an increase in scam callers and Southern Pioneer urges you to be vigilant.
