Kansas House Republicans have introduced a resolution ordering Democratic Attorney General Steve Six to file suit challenging the new federal health care law.
The Republicans contend the new law is unconstitutional because it requires most Americans to buy health insurance starting in 2014.
Kansas law allows a legislative chamber to direct the attorney general to challenge the constitutionality of a state or federal statute.
The resolution was filed Monday.
Six spokesman Ryan Sinovic says the attorney general’s office is reviewing the health care law and will decide whether to file suit based on sound legal analysis, not politics.
