The score probably sent shockwaves throughout the KJCCC. Seward won the game, but barely against improving Colby. The Saints led by as many as 17 (45-28) and led by nine with about 4:30 to play but needed a clutch Marquez Patterson three pointer and a defensive stand to beat Colby for a 10th consecutive time. The Saints led 35-24 at halftime. Seward’s shooting bailed them out after an 8-16 three point shooting night including 6-11 in the first half. Seward trailed 64-63 until Patterson’s three made it 66-64 with 30 seconds to go. Jeremy Jones scored 16 points and dished four assists. Marquez Patterson added 13 points. Seward is 14-3 overall and 2-1 in the Jayhawk West while the Trojans fall to 10-7 overall and 1-2 in the Jayhawk West. The Saints host Pratt Saturday night in the Green House at 8 p.m. on B107.5 and kscbnews.net.
