Liberal junior forward Shamari Lewis is this week’s Hay Rice and Associates Athlete of the Week.  Lewis scored 32 points and grabbed 17 rebounds in Friday’s 73-44 win over Great Bend in the Big House.  It’s the most points in a game by a Liberal girls basketball player since Justice Norah scored 43 in 2011 at Colby.  She averaged a team leading 18 points and 10 rebounds per game for the 4-4 Lady Redskins.  Lewis was also a second team all WAC volleyball player this fall and finished 4th in the triple jump in the state track and field meet last year.  Lewis is also in NHS and the Community Club.  Lewis and the Lady Red play at Garden City Tuesday night at 6pm on 1270 and 92.3.
