Liberal, Kansas – Seward County’s heavy hitter Trenton Rowan will be joining one of the best baseball programs at the NCAA Division 1 level as the sophomore infielder has signed his NLI to join the Arkansas Razorbacks in the SEC for the 2025 season.
Rowan was a stud for the Saints during his two-year stint in Liberal, hitting .390 at the plate over the past two seasons while recording 127 hits, 77 runs, 34 2Bs, 20 HR, and 96 RBIs while wearing a Seward County uniform. As a freshman Rowan was named to the KJCCC Wesat First Team, First Team All-Region VI, and earlier this season was named KJCCC West Player of the Week after starting the season 4-0 while scoring five runs and driving in eight in a sweep over Redlands.
He will be joining an Arkansas team that currently ranks second in the latest NCAA rankings and a few weeks ago sat in the top spot at number one. Overall, on the season the Razorbacks have gone 37-7 with an SEC record of 16-5 while taking down top ten opponents in Oregon State and LSU.
“I am really excited that Trenton is going to Arkansas” Head Coach Mike Davidson said. “What a great young man on and off field. Trenton has put in a lot of hard work to achieve his goal of playing at a power 5 school. We wish him well and look forward to watching him play at Arkansas.”
Seward County will be starting their final four-game series of the 2024 regular season on Thursday when they face the Pratt Beavers on the road in a doubleheader for the first two games before returning home on Saturday to honor their sophomores on sophomore day at 1:00 PM.
