Seward’s Defense Makes Sure Butler Doesn’t Do It

The #6 Seward Lady Saints held Butler to 30 percent shooting as Seward beat Butler 61-48 Saturday afternoon in the Power Plant in El Dorado. Seward held the Lady Grizzlies to 8-25 (32%) in the first half and 9-31 (29%) in the second half as Seward beats Butler for the 30th time in 31 tries.
Seward’s twin towers of Tamara Seda and Axelle Bernard achieved double doubles again. Seda had 12 points and 11 rebounds and Bernard had 11 points and 10 rebounds. Daniela Galindo scored 17 to lead the Lady Saints. Kyndal Davis scored 13 with eight rebounds. Seward shot just 32 percent in the game and was 8-34 from three point range. Seward out rebounded Butler by 10. Seward’s biggest lead was 21 with 5:12 to play and SCCC led 34-20 at halftime.
Seward is 18-1 and 6-0 in the Jayhawk West while Butler is 15-5 and 5-2 in the conference. Seward hosts number one Hutchinson Wednesday night at 6 on B107.5 and kscbnews.net. Sunflower Bank is the buyout sponsor.
