For the second time in the 2013 season, a Seward County
Lady Saint has brought home the Jayhawk West Defensive Player of the
Week award. This time it was freshman libero Kari Anderson who earned
the hardware, averaging over 4 digs per set in three Seward matches last
week.

After splitting time at the libero position early on,
Anderson has won the job for the time being thanks to her stellar play
of late. This week she averaged 4.33 digs in three Seward County
matches, recording double digits in each contest. Wednesday against
Dodge City, she had 11 digs in a three set sweep for the Lady Saints.
Friday at Hutchinson she notched 18 digs in a losing effort and Saturday
she had 10 as well as 2 aces against Pratt.

Anderson currently leads the Lady Saints in digs per set
at 3.27 per as well as sets played with 82, and passer rating at 2.06.
