Seward Wins Foul Fest Featuring Seven Technicals

The Seward County Saints outlasted the Murray State Aggies 92-70 Friday night in the Green House in the Conestoga Classic. The teams were whistled for seven technical fouls (four against Murray and three against Seward) and six players fouled out of the game. There were 59 fouls called in the game as Seward went 32-47 at the free throw line and the Aggies were 15-28 so there were 75 free throws.
Seward bolted to a 25-9 lead and led 44-36 at halftime. The Saints dominated the glass outrebounding Murray State 44-27. Kevin Smith led the Saints with 23 points and seven rebounds. Niem Stevenson had 17 points with six rebounds. Secean Johnson had 15 and Malcolm Hill-Bey had 11 points with five assists and just one turnover.
The Saints have won five straight to improve to 9-6 while Murray State is 2-13. Seward hosts On Point Academy at 8 Saturday night on 1270 and kscbnews.net. On Point lost 79-74 to Butler Friday afternoon in the Green House.
