LIBERAL, Kan. – Seward County Community College Volleyball program sets its sights on the 2022 fall season with some new faces to the roster. The Lady Saints are happy to welcome the five new members of the team that will compete this fall for Seward County. We will introduce them individually below as Head Coach Geno Frugoli talks about how each of them will impact the program this season.
Rafaela DaSilvia is a 5’8″ Setter from Araraquara, Brazil. Coach Frugoli discussed her talents, “Rafaela is a fast-footed smooth setter that plays great defense.” Frugoli went on “I love her confident attitude and she should contribute in many ways to our team.”
Next up is Clara Duarte a 6’2″ middle from Betim, Brazil. “Clara has a great work ethic and has all the physical tools to be successful. It will be fun to see her clog up the middle for us” Head Coach Frugoli stated.
Kavlyn Giacomelli is a 5’11” Outside Hitter from Sesi, Brazil, and a transfer from the College of Southern Idaho (CSI). “Kavlyn brings lots of experience, personality, and a big arm to the Saints.” Coach Frugoli went on, “It’s always nice to have more experienced and proven weapons that will contribute to the offense.”
Another new Lady Saint is Sedona Stinson a 5’7″ Libero out of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Coach Frugoli states “If you told Sedona to play a ball through a wall she would do it. She will bring great energy and passion to the floor and I can’t wait to see her compete.”
Finally, Seward County welcomes Aubreigh Saxton a 6’2″ Middle/Rightside from Argonia, Kansas, and a transfer from Hutchinson Community College. “It didn’t take long for Aubreigh to fit in with our team and coaches.” Had Coach Frugoli stated, “She is primed to have a great year given she is a tall left-handed hitter with experience in the conference.”
This past season the Saints finished third in the KJCCC and were the Region VI Runner-Ups after falling to No. 3 Butler Community College last November. Last Season Seward County completed the season with a 23-10 overall record and a 12-4 conference record.
The Lady Saints will start their season on August 19th in the Cisco/ Ranger invitational in Texas and their first home match on August 31st versus Hutchinson at 6:30 PM.
