The Seward County Volleyball team got into the act of
giving early in the Holiday season Saturday morning as they made a trip
to the Stepping Stone Shelter to help decorate for Christmas. The Lady
Saints set up Christmas trees, decorated the inside with lights and
figurines, and put their decorative and warm touches upon each inch of
the shelter. Freshman outside hitter Annelise Sanchez said of her
experience "Christmas is one of my favorite times of year and to be able
to know that I could put a smile on someone who is less fortunate face
during the Holiday’s, makes it that much better. Everyone on the team
had a really good time and we hope that the people at Stepping Stone
enjoy the decorations." The Seward coaches echoed the thoughts of their
players as Assistant Coach Emilyn Jordan said "we thought it would be a
really good time to lend a helping hand. Many of us take for granted
the things that we have on a daily basis and for our players to be able
to see how good that they have it and to be able to give back and make
someone else’s Christmas a warm one, is something that they will never
forget."
