Seward’s softball team won two at Barton Sunday 18-9 and 13-0. The wins put Seward over .500 in the Jayhawk West at 7-5.

In game one, Seward scored two in the first three innings, three in the fourth, and one in the fifth to lead 10-8. Seward blew the game wide open with eight in the seventh. Samantha Phelps was 3-5 for Seward. Barton out-hit Seward 17-16 but Barton made nine errors.

In game two, Seward scored four in the second, two in the fifth, and seven in the sixth for the run rule win. Katelyn Craker pitched the shutout for Seward. Rachel Shockley, Michelle Duford, and Becky Allen had three hits a piece. Felisha Vogelaar hit a home run and drove home four runs.

Seward is 28-20 overall and 7-5 in the Jayhawk West. Barton is 1-13 in the Jayhawk West and 9-22 overall.

Seward plays at Colby (18-20, 5-9) Wednesday. The two teams split when they played in Liberal.
