Seward Softball Scores 35 Runs in Win at Trinidad

The Seward softball team scored 35 runs in one game of a double header sweep at Trinidad State Thursday afternoon.  Seward swept the Trinidad State Trojans 13-4 and 35-16.

Game one went five innings as the Saints scored five in the first and eight in the second on the way to the blowout win.  Seward out-hit Trinidad 15-6.  Brooklyn Castagnetta and Hailey Michalik had three hits a piece.  Castagnetta had two doubles and a triple.  Michalik drove home three runs.  Anberlin Tatum and Clarissa DelLafuente had two hits a piece.  Kynleigh Kirby pitched two innings allowing one earned run.  Lynette Hernandez went three innings in relief allowing one earned run.

In game two, Seward scored 18 in the first, four in the second, five in the third, one in the fourth, and seven in the fifth.  Trinidad State committed nine errors.

Seward is 9-15 and Trinidad State is 9-13.  Seward hosts Garden City Saturday at 1pm at French Family Field.
