The Seward softball team braved the road for the first time in the 2023 season. Seward traveled to Neosho, Missouri to play the Crowder Roughriders on Saturday. Crowder won 3-2 in game one and 12-3 in game two.
In game one, the Roughriders plated one in the first. Seward came back with two in the fourth to lead 2-1. Seward scored a run in the fifth to tie it. Crowder scored in the bottom of the seventh to walk it off. Crowder out-hit Seward 8-3. Avery Ragsdale hit a home run for Seward in the loss. NaTalia Sewell pitched a solid game for the Saints. She went this distance with five strikeouts and one walk. She allowed one earned run.
Game two was a different story as Crowder scored two in the first, second, and third innings before scoring six in the fourth. Seward committed five errors in the loss. Marisela Landa hit a home run in the loss.
Seward falls to 1-5 and Crowder is 4-0. Seward plays at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M at 11am Sunday morning.
