The Lady Saints got on the board first in game one, plating a run on a 2nd inning double play to jump ahead 1-0.
Seward scored three more times courtesy of a pair of Northeastern errors in the 3rd and then added their fifth run of the game on a bullet up the middle from Leena Mortensen to make it 5-0.
The Plainswomen got their lone run of the game on a solo home run in the 4th, but Seward answered back with a pair in the 6th on RBI singles from Sydney Epp and Kaitlin Ammermann to finish off the 7-1 victory.
Seward only outhit Northeastern 7-5 in the game, but the Lady Saints took advantage of 3 Plainswomen errors and 9 walks to pull away for victory. Epp and Mortensen did the bulk of the damage for the Lady Saints, combining for four of Seward’s five RBI’s in the game. Monique Ashley cruised to 5-1 in the circle for Seward, going all the way, allowing just 5 hits and 1 run while striking out 5.

It didn’t take the Lady Saints long to get going in game two either as Jullian Atteberry singled home a pair and Mortensen drove home another in the bottom half of the 1st to give Seward an early 3-0 lead.
They were back at it in the 2nd as Maycee Koontz ripped a run scoring single to make it 4-0 and later scored on a Northeastern error to push the Seward lead to 5-0.
The Plainswomen got their lone run of the game in the top of the 3rd, but Seward answered right back with three more in the 4th, getting an RBI single from Lexi Manyik and a two run double from Atteberry to make it 8-1.
Seward ended things right away in the 5th as Sage Harrison lifted off on a solo home run, giving the Lady Saints an altered walk off 9-1 win in run rule fashion.
Again, the hit differential was just 9-7 in favor of Seward, but the Lady Saints played a clean game defensively and Northeastern made 5 errors in the contest. Atteberry powered the Seward offense, going 3 for 3 with 4 RBI’s in the win while Ruby Gonzalez did the rest in the circle for the Lady Saints, tossing a complete game, allowing just 1 run while fanning 3 to improve to 5-1 on the year.

Seward improves to 12-3 with the sweep and extends its win streak to seven games while Northeastern remains winless on the year at 0-9.
The Lady Saints return to the field on Wednesday when they travel to Clarendon to take on the Bulldogs in a road doubleheader before playing a home and home with Lamar Friday and Saturday.
