Seward Sinks Cloud After Slow Start

After dropping the first set, Seward rallied to beat Cloud 3-1 in the Green House Wednesday night. Seward won (18-25, 26-24, 25-18, 25-19) to win for the seventh time in eight tries and they have won eight of their last 10. Seward hit .303 in the win. Alex Wood had 14 kills and 11 digs in the win. Megan Sharratt was potent in the middle with 12 kills and five blocks. Maritza Mesa had 13 kills. Jade Piper had 24 assists and Kimberly Diaz added 15 digs.

Seward is 11-7 overall and 5-1 in the Jayhawk. Cloud is 10-7 and 4-3 in conference. Seward hosts the Oz Fest Classic Friday and Saturday facing Butler at noon Friday for a conference match before playing Otero at 6. They play Saturday at noon against Lamar and Saturday night at 6 Seward plays Clarendon.
