Seward County freshman libero Kelci Bedingfield made school history
Tuesday as she was named the Jayhawk West Defensive Player of the Week,
the first time in program history a player has won the award.
In its first year of existence, the Defensive Player of the Week award
went to Bedingfield this week after the Holiday, Texas native had
another big match for the Lady Saints Wednesday, helping Seward comeback
from a 2-0 deficit to defeat Barton 3-2 on the road. The Lady Saints
rookie libero finished with a match high 29 digs in the five set win.
With the performance, she has now recorded 18 or more digs in three
straight starts.
Bedingfield and the Lady Saints will return to the court Wednesday at
home in the Greenhouse as they take on Colby at 6:30 in a key Jayhawk
West battle with the Trojans.
