Seward Releases 1st Soccer Schedule

Liberal, KAN. – The Seward County Saints Soccer teams have released the inaugural schedule for the Fall 2023 seasons. The Saints’ first-ever match will be at Pratt Community College on August 19.  The team’s first-ever home game is set for Wednesday, August 23 against Kansas City Kansas Community College. The KJCCC conference matchup begins with the women at 6 p.m. and the men at 8 p.m.  All Seward Saints soccer home games in 2023 will be played at Redskin Field at Liberal High School.

The Fall 2023 season marks the first-ever season for the men’s and women’s soccer programs at Seward County Community College. The teams will compete in the KJCCC Conference; per NJCAA rules, teams are allowed a maximum of 22 games plus scrimmages. On the men’s side, eight teams comprise KJCCC Division 1. On the women’s side, there are 10 Division 1 KJCCC teams. Both Saints soccer teams will play each team in their conference twice, with a home-and-home series.

Men and women will play two road scrimmages in August before the season begins.  The men’s program will host Lamar Community College on August 31st, a partnership with Liberal High School to host a triple header series at Redskin Field. The Redskins JV and varsity play Great Bend that same night.

Both programs will play a non-conference game in Kansas City, taking on Metropolitan Community College on September 28th.

Looking ahead to conference play, the top two seeds of each division will host the first round of the playoffs, playing the #3 and #4 seeds from the opposite division. Winners advance to the Region VI Semifinals. Stryker Sports Complex in Wichita will host the national tournament for both men and women for the next two years.
