After a two year stint at Central Methodist University in Fayette, Missouri, Seward County Lady Saints Head Volleyball Coach Bert Luallen is happy to announce that assistant coach Michelle Hayes will be bringing her talents to Liberal for the upcoming season. Hayes will join the Lady Saints staff officially July 1st at the 2011 USA Volleyball Junior National Tournament in Atlanta. Hayes was an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the Eagles of Central Methodist for the past two seasons after a playing career at Southern Wesleyan University in South Carolina.

Hayes is originally from Pickens, South Carolina and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation and Leisure Services from Southern Wesleyan University and a Master’s Degree in Education from Central Methodist University. Besides focusing strongly on recruiting, Hayes will be working with hitters and blockers in practice with the Lady Saints.

"Michelle has a passion for coaching and that is obvious when you talk to her" Luallen said. "She is a good recruiter and being a four year starter as a player in college will really bring alot to our program" he continued.

Hayes will hit the ground running upon her arrival to Liberal as she and the rest of the Lady Saints will begin workouts in early August before taking the floor for regular season action later in the month.
