Seward County Sports Information Director Roy Allen will have a
little bit more on his plate as the 2011-2012 school year approaches.
To go along with his SID duties, Allen will now assist Galen McSpadden
as the Assistant Athletic Director.

Allen will assist McSpadden and the department with a number of
things including travel and vehicle scheduling as well as taking more of
a supervisory role within the department. His job and work as an SID
will not change and he stressed that by saying "As a former college
athlete and college coach I know how important having quality work
coming out of your Sports Information Department is. I will continue to
work as hard as I can to maintain what we have and continue to grow our
department from my side of things" he said. "Our website, press
releases, programs, etc. will not go backwards because of my new
responsibilities" he continued.

He started his new duties July 1st and has just over a month to
get everything in order as Seward's volleyball team begins their
preseason workouts the first week of August. Allen said of his new title
"I am really looking forward to the opportunity and the challenges of
the new position. The cohesiveness of this department is obvious with
its success. I hope that I can add a piece to the puzzle to keep that
going in the right direction and see even how much more successful
Seward County athletics can be."
