Seward County Sheriff’s Office Makes Drug Seizure

 

On March 3^rd 2021, a Seward County Sheriff’s Office Deputy conducted a traffic stop resulting in the seizure of 20 pounds of illegal narcotics.

The Seward County Sheriff’s Office Deputy stopped a vehicle on Highway 54 Mile Post 11 at about 8 PM Wednesday evening for a traffic violation.  The Liberal Police Department K-9 Unit assisted by conducting a free air sniff around the vehicle.  The K-9 indicated to the presence of illegal narcotics inside the vehicle.

A search of the vehicle turned up approximately 16 pounds of methamphetamine and approximately 4 pounds of cocaine.

Both driver and passenger were arrested on drug charges and are currently being held, pending formal charges from the Seward County Attorney’s Office.
