The Seward County Commission met on Monday evening for their regularly scheduled meeting. First, up on the agenda, the commission approved the Upgrade and replacement of the Security System in the Seward County Courthouse, Law Enforcement Center, and Administration Building. Tek/Style is requesting a 30% down to start the project. This item was originally approved on 07/20/2020. Total cost of the project is $67,129.08 with the 30% down at $20,138.72.

The Commission approved a conditional use permit to allow for the construction of anaerobic digesters and associated buildings and equipment at the Tuls Dairy, and Commissioners waived the Seward County Zoning Regulations and Seward County Manufactured Home and Recreational Vehicle Code to allow for the placement of a single-wide manufactured home to be placed on the agricultural property as a second residential structure for use by the family of the property owner.

For the Road and Bridge Department, the Commission approved the purchase of 2 Flex Mowers in the amount of $22,500.00 per mower from Livingston Machinery Company. Also, the Commission approved the request to have repairs done on the Roundtop on Satanta road. The wind blew a lot of tin off during high winds this spring. The Road and Bridge Department uses the building to store two graders that work in those sections of the County.

Commissioner approved a temporary license to sell cereal malt beverages at the PRCA Rodeo, and moved the first Commission meeting in September to Tuesday, September 6, 2022, due to the Labor Day Holiday.
