On Thursday afternoon the Seward County Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire 10 miles east of Liberal on road 2. Units arrived on scene to find a single family dwelling with heavy fire to the backside.

All occupants escaped the residence uninjured. Multiple family pets were lost in fire.

The cause of fire appears to be electrical and accidental in nature. Damages are estimated to be $150,000.00. Red Cross is assisting the homeowners.

Seward County Fire responded with 8 personnel, 6 apparatus and were assisted by sheriff’s office, Turpin Fire Department and Beaver County Roads with a Water Tanker.
