Seward County Commission Meets Approves SCBA Equipment

The Seward County Board of County Commissioners met on Monday and after hearing updates from the County Attorney on Tax Recovery and also from Kirkham Michael, approved the Seward Co/Kirkham Michael Bridge Inspection Agreement. Seward County is required to have a biennial routine bridge inspection to comply with FHWA requirements.

The Commission approved an amendment to the contract with Cobalt Cattle Company in regards to the fire station near the feed yard.

The Commissioners gave approval of the Self Contained Breathing Apparatus replacement project for purchase from Conrad Fire Equipment in the amount of $214,934.46 and selected Republic First National as the Lease Purchaser based on the annual APR and annual payment amount.

Commissioners authorized the hiring of Court Reporter, Johanna Wilkinson, paying half the cost, to come from Legal Counsel budget to cover the trial in the Arkalon Ethanol Plant vs. Seward County case.

Approved also at Monday’s meeting was the updated Employee Handbook.
